The Bachelorette contestant Justin Glaze was recently called out for his old tweets that had racial insults and homophobic comments. Justin addressed his problematic tweets during his a podcast. Glaze also apologised for the ‘ignorant and hurtful’ past tweets. He said he has no issue in owning up to his mistakes and apologising from the bottom of his heart. Glaze who got trolled online recently said that the incident was a wake-up call for him. He said he will continue to evolve and educate himself to do better.
According to a report in People.com, while speaking with Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Tayshia Adams on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Justin apologised. He said, “As I reflect on everything I just went through with this whole journey, oftentimes people ask me what I took from it.” Glaze added, “And one of the biggest takeaways for me was just my personal growth, and one of those things is being able to hold myself accountable, which is something that historically I wasn't able to do. So, I have no issue with owning up and apologizing from the bottom of my heart for the really hurtful words that I used."
Justin continued and said that the last thing he wants to do is run from him as it is not who he is. He said he wants to speak from the heart, hoping people understand where he was then versus where he is now. Glaze added that he does not want anyone to defend him because even though the remarks are a decade old. Justin said, "No matter how long it was, those words shouldn't have come out of my mouth.” He added, “what I said was ignorant and hurtful then [and ] it's ignorant and hurtful now." "I know those words would never come out of my mouth, because I know the weight that they carry, no matter what context they're used in. I understand how much allyship and support those groups that I offended need,” said the Bachelorette fame.
